Welcome to The Flower Power Company news area of our website. It has been an interesting journey so far, developing our range of natural, vegan and cruelty free skincare products, made here in the UK.
When did the idea begin? Almost 4 decades ago while I picked flowers in my family garden at our home called Hermitage in the lovely Lancashire countryside.
As a little girl I tried to make flowers into perfumes and face creams with limited results.... Who knew that rose petals stuffed in a jam jar with water don't always create the perfect fragrance!
Life then got in the way and my passion for flowers was pushed to the bottom of a long to do list but my childhood home was still there to remind me what I really wanted to do.
Long summer days and balmy evenings were spent wandering amongst the flowers with my wonderful parents who taught me literally to stop to smell the roses.
My dad passed suddenly away in 2017 then 6 weeks later my mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer and my world turned upside down. I cared for her and spent a year absorbing the wisdom that the beauty of life was in nature before she passed away too.
My mum and I watched clouds pass, birds, bees, ladybirds and butterflies come to visit us and enjoyed watching the flowers grow. Treasured memories forever.
Grief then took over my life. Waves crashed over as I rebuilt my childhood home into a home for my small family. The garden gave me such comfort and stopping to smell the roses and admire the flowers slowly brought me back to life.
A skin cancer diagnosis then stopped my world spinning again but it also put everything into perspective. Wellness, thinking about what you put on your skin and doing what you really want in life took over my thinking.
After much research into skincare and product ingredients and talking to dermatologists, The Flower Power Company was born with the mission to make the world a more beautiful place, by using the amazing power of flowers. The first product is our natural, organic facial oil and we have plans germinating for many more....
Much love and thank you for joining me on my journey.
